Syllabus for Entrance Test for PGPEL & APEL
The book which will be given along with the prospectus is Gandhian Management by Ram Pratap (Publication: Jaico). Those who are shortlisted from the GD and pay Rs.900 being keen to join SCMLD only are eligible for written test. 30% of the questions will be from this book and 10% from the prospectus. Basic Maths and Data Analysis part of the written test covers the following syllabus.
Syllabus for Basic Maths and Data Analysis
A) APPLIED MATHEMATICS
- RATIO, PROPORTION AND SET THEORY. [Computation of ratios, proportions, set notations and set operations such as union, intersections, their meaning etc.]
- ARTHMETIC AND GEOMETRIC PROGRESSION. [mainly the different series of numbers and their properties.
- UNIVARIATE FUNCTION AND GRAPHS, CONCEPTS OF AREA UNDER A GRAPH. [equations in one variables such as 3X+2 and graphical forms of the equations]
B) APPLIED STATISTICS.
- DATA COLLECTION AND ITS DIAGRAMATIC FORM SUCH AS BAR CHART, PIECHART etc and the meaning of the diagrams.
- ARITHMETIC MEAN, MEDIAN, MODE AS STATISTICAL MEASURES OF NUMERICAL DATA.[for example to study average price of a commodity, average speed of a vehicle, mode rain fall in a monsoon etc.]
- VARIANCE AND STANDARD DEVIATION.[for example marketing department of certain company wants to know average deviation on per day sale from monthly average sale etc.]
- PROBABILITY OF AN EVENT.[the various chance of occurrences of certain events in uncertainty. For example what is the chance that a student will score A-grade in his performance etc.]

The above covers 30% of the questions in the written test. Current Affairs part of the written test will cover 30% of the questions.

Psychometric Tests
For Psychometric Tests, there is no need for any preparation at all. In fact no preparation should be done. This will also have substantial weightage in computation of total score in entrance test.
Having given all the above if a student does not score 65%, admission may not be granted. That is, who score 65% and above can take straight admission and those who score 50% and above but below 65% can take admission through Bridge Programme straight away.
