IGNOU Partnership

 

SCMLD has been accepted as a partnership institution of IGNOU (No. PI.SCM 4116) vide its letter DEC / Conv / Sch / 08 / 13910 dated 26th September 2008. Under this SCMLD is authorized to offer any under graduate or post graduate programme of Indira Gandhi National Open University on a face to face (classroom) mode, for the students of IGNOU.

 

This is part of the IGNOU’s efforts to enhance the quality of Teaching - Learning process and increasing the quantity of education delivery by providing flexible opportunities for learners. It improves accessibility to higher education for a large section of young population who are deprived of quality higher education. In this arrangement SCMLD will provide the best possible class sessions and IGNOU - the study materials and degrees / diplomas to students who will be successful in its examinations.

 

SCMLD has started coaching for IGNOU MBA, PGDIM, PGDMM, PGDFM, PGDOM and PGDHRM w.e.f. June 2009.

 

Programme Structure
Successful completion of a specific combination of above courses would lead to:
• Master of Business Administration (MBA), or
• Diploma in Management (DIM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM), or
• Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM), or
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM).

 

Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The MBA Programme consists of 21 courses in all. These comprise of :
• All the courses in PGDIM (Eleven Courses) i.e. MS-1 to MS-11 • Five courses from any one of the specialisation streams
• Compulsory Courses (MS-91, MS-95) and one elective course (MS-92 / 93 / 94 / 96 / 97)
• Project Course (MS-100) equivalent to 2 courses.

 

Diploma in Management (DIM)
The Diploma in Management Programme comprises of 5 courses (three compulsory and two elective courses to be chosen out of four). The following table presents the overall scheme of courses:

 

 

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM)
The Post Graduate Diploma in Management programme comprises of of 11 courses. The following table presents the list of courses in the programme.

 

 

The Integrative Courses
The Integrative Courses consist of two compulsory courses, five elective courses, (out of which the student is required to choose one) and a project course which is equivalent to two courses. (Thus making a total of five courses). The details are given below:

 

 

The Specialisation Diploma Programmes (PGSDMs)
The Specialisation Programme in Functional Areas presently consists of 4 streams of functional area P.G. diplomas. They are, Post Graduate Diplomas in - Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Operations Management and Marketing Management. In order to qualify for a particular specialisation P.G. diploma a student is required to complete five courses in all from that particular stream.

 

 

Eligibility for Admission to Management Programmes:
The following eligibility criteria has been approved by the Academic Council

 

i) Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for General Category and 45% marks for reserved category;
OR
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of supervisory / managerial / professional experience.
OR
Professional Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine / Architecture / Law / Pharmacy.
OR
Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/Cost and Works Accountancy / Company Secretaryship etc.
OR
A Master’s Degree in any subject

 

ii) Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU. The candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into Management Programme conducted by institutions like CAT, MAT and State level tests need not appear in OPENMAT

 

Explanation: a) ‘Experience’ means work experience of a person during or after acquiring the qualification as specified above.

 

Note: Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in any qualifying examination but their results are not declared on or before the last dates for submission of Application Forms for Admission to Management Programme will not be eligible.

 

Non Graduates (10+2) with 6 yrs. of supervisory or professional experience can take DIM subject to clearing OPENMAT.

 

For DIM: Those who are Non-graduates and who have successfully completed DIM would be allowed to get admission into Management Programme (MBA), without re-appearing in Entrance Test (OPENMAT), after completing Bachelor’s degree, if they so desire

A student need to take only one course out of these five but coaching will be given to all the courses.

 

Note: For IGNOU MBA - one need to take only 11+5+3+2 = 21 courses. For PGDIM - only 11 courses. For specialisation Diploma only 5 courses. However SCMLD will offer coaching for all courses, for students to have options

 

For APEL direct entry students - All IGNOU courses are offered in the sequence as they are offered to PGPEL 2012-13.

 

for second year, IGNOU programs are offered in the sequence as offered to APEL students.

 

Since SCMLD’s PGPEL is from June to April and APEL is from July to April, coaching for all IGNOU subjects will be finished between June 2012 to April 2014, so that students can take IGNOU exams in December 2012, June 2013, December 2013, June 2014 and December 2014.
