Dear Parents and Applicants,

Please read the entire prospectus before you arrive at a decision about joining SCMLD. Ours is a transparent and unique institute and we are building it brick by brick, to emerge respectful and of value to all our stakeholders - students, parents, staff, faculty, corporates, business, industry, community and the country. SCMLD belongs to all of them and more particularly to my former students from SCMHRD, the Trustees and the Board of Governance and our faculty and employees, who all have been our committed supporters and partners right from the start.

However, this institute cannot grow on the lines and basis envisioned in our credo, mission and vision, without your support. In order to accomplish this tall order that we have set for ourselves, we need the support of all our students, their parents, the industry and, most importantly, our dedicated staff and faculty. While legally SCMLD is under the parentage of the Sadhana Educational & Empowerment Foundation (a not for profit Public Trust and Society), emotionally and morally you are the owners of this institute. Your learning, effort, behaviours and performance will decide the destiny of SCMLD.

Our endeavour is to sculpt leaders of tomorrow out of our students of today. This is not an easy task. It will generate sparks, heat, dust, noise and pains. Habit patterns and conditioning must be altered and paradigm shifts have to be effected. Our vision is to bring exemplary action leaders in the making, out from the students who join SCMLD. Everything we do at SCMLD is to achieve this. Existing assumptions, presumptions, beliefs, habits, attitudes etc. will be challenged by our processes and systems. Pleasure addiction and feelings driven judgemental approaches will have to give way to “what is right” and a how to make that happen approach “Feeling good” syndrome will affect “doing right” decisions. Here comes your willing acceptance and ownership of the process at SCMLD.

As stated above, our promoters are all my former students. The Board of Governance (BOG) members are those who exemplified honesty, integrity, courage of conviction and purposeful action. SCMLD works with no personal motives. Any surplus generated by the institute, after paying all its employees who work day and night for its purpose, goes into infrastructural and process development and improvement. The students are empowered to audit our accounts, as are all other stakeholders. Everything at SCMLD is an open book. SCMLD does not operate from fear of competition. It competes with itself to make the students values driven and competent. There is no substitute for hardwork.

SCMLD is for those who do not see money and self interest as the final purpose and ambition of life. Money & profit should only be a means to spread happiness, peace, prosperity and harmony in our world. Wealth creation is important not to accumulate and hoard it for self alone, but a responsibility to distribute it for a respectable and happy life for all people. Profit must be made but Seva & Samarpan must be the drive behind it. A nation can make progress only through the progress and progressive acts of her citizens. This is what SCMLD aspires to enable through bringing out fine and responsible business leaders. We emphasize on purpose and not so much on “success”. Wants define success. Needs define purpose. Spreading peace, harmony, happiness, health, well being, and sharing & caring relationships define profit, not currency notes or hypothetical indices of stock exchanges.

Therefore, SCMLD is looking for students with conviction and passion who can identify with its purpose. The journey is tough and so we want the students to come prepared and their parents to stand by us. Also of our 150-200 students we want at least 15-20 every year to emerge as entrepreneurial leaders. If they are active learners we shall provide them all the support possible to start their units/establishments provided they come forward for the same. So is the case with those students wishing to develop their existing family businesses. Customers should seek them for the quality of their products and services and not through enticing & fraudulent advertisements. SCMLD is an example of this approach. Every aspect of this institute is detailed in the prospectus so that students come to us fully aware, making an informed choice. Majority of our students will be employment seekers. We want them to be Executive Leaders not mere employees seeking easy life & shortcuts. Companies should come seeking them. Enlightened citizens of action and Entrepreneurs both governed by values, ethics, Seva & Samarpan are the backbone of the country. Together, they can only take the country to prosperity. The talkers and critics cannot. They can only create chaos and add to the high decibel noise pollution.

Therefore, we do not seek large numbers but few applicants to join us in this journey. We aspire to make an institution that is more than a few buildings and its facades. Elements of frugality will govern all our initiatives.

Students, however, must note that SCMLD is not a resort for passing time. SCMLD is, also, not a placement agency as has been iterated earlier. We will groom you and fulfil all the promises made in this prospectus but placement will depend on your efforts and how much you make of our offering. SCMLD is a learning centre, which facilitates students to learn and evolve. If one learns and evolves, placement will come as a natural outcome. If you are confident of partaking in our journey, we welcome you to SCMLD. But if you believe that once you pay the fee, it's duty of SCMLD to find you job with a salary you dream of, you will only be frustrated at SCMLD. You have to work very hard.

You are not allowed to smoke or drink alcoholic beverages or use psychotic substances or drugs. Also you have to get up at 5.00 AM and go to bed at 10.30 PM, must read at least 25-30 hrs per week within the above timings, do pranayama, yoga, meditation, work out, and 30 minutes of afternoon relaxation etc. You cannot use mobile phones on campus. Also laptops are not allowed in class and library. Parents/wards can call only between 8:00 pm to 9:15 pm on any day.

All these are for your good. It is easy for us to leave you free to do anything. But making you shed bad habits and addictions is a difficult task for us.
