Every student will get five GD / Interview chances and one grace chance for final placement. Additional opportunity will be given once all students get 5-6 chances each. This is to avoid students misusing opportunities by being casual and wanting to experiment in selection process with the intention of not accepting the offer / joining the company. At SCMLD, we do not accept faking anywhere / any time / whatsoever maybe the reasons. If any student fails to clear GDs or interviews even after facing 5-6 companies in GD or interview or both, he / she will be taken out of the campus placement process till all others get as many number of chances as he / she got. This is to make the students do their homework seriously before facing interviews or select only those companies which they want to get in. This forces students to be clear and work hard as unlimited options are not available.
-
If a student attends a selection process and the company offers appointment, the student has 24 hrs time to accept or reject the offer. If accepted he/she is taken out of the campus placement process. If the student does not accept the offer or do not qualify, it will be considered as a chance lost for the purpose stated in the paragraph below.
-
We request that the companies issue offer letters addressed to the institute. Acceptance by students also has to go through the placement cell of the institute, to the company. This will help the institute monitor the process properly.
-
Offer and acceptance are to be in writing to avoid confusion and lack of finality. If a company wants to examine all students/most of them, the company should do the PPT sufficiently in advance. However the already placed students will not be allowed to sit for any further processes. But attendance of all (100%) students is a must in PPT as there is lot to learn from every company's presentation.
-
If a student accepts an offer and does not join the company but joins another one (not through campus) and SCMLD comes to know about it or found out and if the former company informs us about not joining, we shall withhold his/her certificates and also take up the matter with the latter company informing it of the breach of commitment of the student.
-
Once joined, retention/leaving is a matter between the company and the student and not of the institute. We are sure that 80 - 90% of SCMLDians will not leave without fulfilling their commitments to the company.

Companies can offer differential salary to differentially competent students as the company thinks fit & proper. Alongside the components (indexed) in the Bio-data, this rule is to make them put in efforts at the institute to emerge professional & competent rather than using SCMLD as a mere "placement" agency. SCMLD is a no-nonsense grooming centre for students to be contributing members of organisations.
-
We have evaluated students w.r.t. their integrity, action orientation, initiative, academic efforts, commitment, time and quality orientation, analytical skills etc. Our grooming is process driven, very transparent and evaluation is spread over 17-18 months of their being with us, as students. You can rely on it. Many recruiters have validated it by finding it 90 - 95% correct.

We would prefer companies not to communicate salary in pre placement presentations, if the salary is more than Rs. 4.5 Lakh CTC per anum. If it is less than that, it is better to communicate. Work expectations, working conditions, value system, behaviours and attitudes not acceptable/rewarded, etc if communicated, misfits may not enter the companies. This is our suggestion. Companies are free to do whatever they would like to, as they are the best judges for themselves. As mentioned earlier, our concern is that SCMLD should not be considered as a mere placement agency, by students. They should come to SCMLD to learn and evolve, and placement should be an outcome of their competencies / shaping up and potential to contribute.

During the personal interview the student may be asked to present his / her portfolio and thesis to prove his / her commitment and intensity in learning and also to understand his / her unique talent / interest as a person / professional.
