Self Managed Teams (SMT)
Students are to learn to conceptualise, plan, execute and make things happen and get things done through and with people, by leading and teaming up. They should be accountable for the results - quality and timely delivery of the outcome or effect within pre-decided costs. What cannot be taught in classrooms get learned being in SMTs. They should experience the challenges of managing people and resources by handling these purpose driven and evaluated activities. The scientific knowing aspect of execution can be picked up in the classroom to a certain extent but the art, craft, pains and challanges of execution need different skills and abilities. SMTs give them a realtime experience although limited. Students are to come voluntarily to be members of these teams. This is an integral part of ECGPA as in the case of community work and other activities.
