This note is to invite you to include SCMLD in your campus recruitment programme 2008 / 09. We are a small institute striving to operationalise certain transformational processes and innovative approaches and unconventional methods to sculpt out committed, truthful, ethical, community sensitive, customer centric, transparent and very hardworking professionals out of aspiring students.
It is our belief and conviction that, whether good, bad, tough, up or down times, businesses and relationships to sustain and flourish to a mutually rewarding experience and to continually improve by value enhancement and keep cementing and reinforcing the relationship and thus make it last, the people involved must take personal responsibility & ownership, contribute & keep adding value, build trust & confidence and keep making things happen. People must be constant learners. Innovation and creative solution orientation are a must. Gandhiji once said “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Customer is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an outsider. He is a part of us. He is the purpose of our work. We are not doing any favour to him. He is doing a favour to us”. Business and people, who build relationships on this strong foundation of truth will never fail, and success will be a sure shot outcome.
This requires sincerity and seriousness at work. It calls for certain inner qualities and characteristics. If one is not genuine, transparent and not hungry to serve better and better, work will become stressful and stressful people cannot deliver excellence. Operating in this paradigm, hard work will become challenge. Hype, faking, jargons and cosmetic appearance and packaging cannot take one to Mt. Everest. These are not substitutes for performance. Similarly, knowing is not doing; nor mere doing equals performance. To perform one needs to stretch and stretch with no finishing line for oneself. Knowing alone is not sufficient.
Keeping the above in mind, we at SCMLD have taken our students through an inner journey for each one of them to behold truth and ethics in their lives, and work hard. We have put them through a rigorous time schedule to inculcate habits, discipline and time management which are essential for excellence. We have inspired them to sweep public roads, do community work, do business as street vendors, work as salesmen, climb hills, trek forests and trained them to keep centred and connected to their inner beings to discover themselves. Also our processes and approaches, demolish unrealistic assumptions, egoistic perceptions & pretentiousness and make students realise realities. These are additional to the academic/intellectual inputs. We focus on bringing out their leadership potential. Hence we have re-christened our PGDM as Post Graduate Program in Executive Leadership which is beyond the conventional MBA / PGDM in terms of inputs, grooming, content, method, processes, standards of evaluation etc.
Yoga, pranayama, meditation, outbounds, learning by doing activities, team learning projects etc. make them shed ego, free themselves from false vanity, and help them embrace honesty and develop understanding that there is no shortcut to success.
May we request you to have a look at our students by including SCMLD in your campus itinerary. SCMLD students will perform at work. They will be sincere and serious at work - at least 90 – 95% of them.
Please have a glance especially at the time schedule (page no.4) and the CV format (page no.2-3), which speak of our processes. You need not do any reference check for SCMLD students. Their CVs speak of them thoroughly. SCMLD is a cost effective source for high performing, genuine human resource with good leadership potential. We have groomed them with great sincerity. The seeds sown by us will sprout and contribute at work place.
