Electives
According to one's capacity and interest a student can take additional electives from any other functional area.
If one does not want to specialise in any particular area, one can select subjects of one's choice from across specialisations and complete the programme fulfilling the credit requirements. In this case he/she will get a general certification.
Once one opts as above, all requirements of attendance, assignments, viva-voce, essay, exams, passing standards etc. become applicable and subsequently one cannot abandon the electives chosen additionally.

Voluntary students specific assignments (Trimester I to IV) Placement specific and can enhance ECGPA
Each student has to choose one assignment per trimester during first year and one for trimester IV. The following process has to be followed for choosing the assignments.

• Develop clarity of career options and choose topics in alignment with market realities in the sector/segment and spectrum of products & services of your interest. (e.g. FMCG, Banking, Insurance, Retail, IT Services, Hospitality, Bio-Tech Industries, Pharma, Healthcare, Social, Rural, NGO, Agribusiness, Office Equipments / Products, Entrepreneurship, Manufacturing, Education, Arts, Crafts, Exports, Imports, Tourism, Consulting, Financial Services, BPOs, Consumer Products and so on.)

• Follow scientific research methodologies, plan statistical tools and techniques for analysis, do research and submit reports after thorough work and analysis. Every student specific assignment must have an investment of at least 30 hours per trimester.

Submission : Assignments are to be submitted on the last day of the trimester. Prior to starting the assignment, faculty approval has to be obtained in the prescribed format in writing. The approval must be attached with the report. The report will have two components:

a) Literature survey, analysis and understanding - A minimum of three books on that topic, 10 articles from approved journals, findings from two published case studies and reviews of all articles that appeared in periodicals, news, newspapers, internet etc. during the trimester on that topic, are to be read and summarised.

b) The second part will have the library/ field study report as the case may be.
Only by classroom sessions it is impossible to understand leadership. Therefore field assignments are a must in every Trimester. Additional to this there will be surveys on Consumer Behaviour, Retailer & Dealer Surveys and many other professional surveys and industry internship as already mentioned earlier. These voluntary student specific assignments can enhance the ECGPA of those who score well in these.
